A 10th Premier League defeat of the campaign leaves Liverpool's participation in next season's Champions League in doubt.
The 2-1 loss at Brighton on Saturday means the champions stay fifth after top-five rivals Chelsea were also beaten at Everton later that day.
Arne Slot's struggling side have now taken just one point from the last nine on offer against rock-bottom Wolves, relegation-threatened Tottenham Hotspur and Fabian Hurzeler's Brighton.
The Reds don't return to league action until they host Fulham on Saturday, April 11.
Everyone has a theory and an opinion on what has and is going wrong at Anfield this season and in that spirit, the ECHO has opened the floor to its readers to give some of their takes and what the issues are and how they are addressed.
Here's what Liverpool fans from around the world have been saying in our latest ECHO Reds Letter Day.
I’ll get straight to the simple point. I travel a 500-mile round trip to watch the Reds 10 games a season. I watch every game on TV whether it upsets the family or not. Watching Liverpool means so much to me and it’s part of my life.
Arne Slot has ripped the identity from this incredible club with passive football. It’s devoid of heart and emotion.
A lack of passion and a sincere lack of trust among its whole squad. Our Premier League losses are woeful. Ten to date. We are weak in mentality and heart. I honestly believe the players have had enough. They’ve lost their edge. This squad of players was built to press, to run and run some more.
Slot and his backroom staff have undone everything Jurgen Klopp instilled back in our club and it’s a disgrace he is still here. Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards look like they may depart this summer and the supporters have the right to know what our vision is.
There’s so much uncertainty and you can see it in the players. I’m questioning games I attend, or whether I’ll watch the Reds and sacrifice more aggro. Do I want to buy any more merchandise? Because I’m really despondent with the club.
Arne Slot has to go. Xabi Alonso must come in to bring the same intensity and identity back that he gave to Bayer Leverkusen. Potentially missing out on the Champions League and having Everton within two points of us is a reality of where we are.
I have zero faith in the club and the manager right now. The players will pick up again but we need a new guy at the helm.

I’m fine with Arne Slot staying until the end of the season. But if we miss the top four, fans won’t accept excuses about the financial hit from missing the Champions League. The owners will still have to bring in several players.
And at this point it's not even about winning, its about the fact that our playing style is shameful. We ran 7-8km less than Brighton?!?? Okay, so you're going to use players not in their natural position on a weekly basis, but that distance stat shows nothing's left from Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool - and worse, the players don't want to run for Slot.
Arne Slot constantly playing Cody Gakpo proves to me he’s lost it. A player so out of form and yet he persists with him. Also makes changes far too late in games. He’s on borrowed time.
I think Liverpool are missing Trent Alexander-Arnold more than they realise or are prepared to accept they do. Especially the fans who might be disappointed, angered or whatever by the right-back playmaker's departure
Hence, LFC are adjusting big time the way they are playing along with other factors, e.g. new players adjusting to the intensity of the league and new team-mates, new coaching, new way of playing, players being injured, etc.
I think we just need time …. a good pre-season together, intense training … but we are going to a World Cup summer with immediate USA tour (most of our players hopefully will be there or thereabout for their breaks).
Another batch of new players are gonna come in again…Yet another season in transition looming again!?
We will get through this mess together. Never, ever blame Arne Slot one bit, I know from his Feyenoord time how attacking and exciting his football was. I have every faith he can get it right, he's a good man as well.
I just hope the coach, sporting director and management team sit together and decide what is best for our football team. Don't just buy players to prove himself right or just because I used to like him in the past.
Change the formation to get the best out of this current team - there will be a bench with Curtis Jones, Federico Chiesa, Joe Gomez, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gapko. The manager must stop blaming injuries but rather pick the correct team.
Bradley Sutton Richards
I wonder why you can go to a match with only a lone striker, then he gets injured and then you put a midfielder in... Why? It's a midfield that is crowded and does not create anything.
Why doesn't Arne Slot dive into the academy and bring a striker from there? We have strikers who score on the streaks on our U-teams, they will all pose a greater danger than Cody Gakpo. And, why didn't Calvin Ramsay come in at full-back and move Jeremie Frimpong forward?
I don't understand anything. The management and owner must come forward soon and not hide.
By and large, Arne Slot's preferred style of play is too slow, too casual, too indecisive, lacking determination and belief. When Hugo Ekitike had to be substituted early in this last game, that Slot opted for Curtis Jones, versus a fully-rested Rio Ngumoha, speaks volumes about the current decision-maker on the touchline. I could believe it.
When I perused the remaining games, a few weeks ago, and I saw we still had Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Chelsea to play - I saw that as a potential 'positive' regarding finishing in the top 4-5 places in the table. Based on Slot's seemingly immutable philosophy, and unwatchable performances of the last three league games, those three upcoming games now look more like 9 points lost.
I just know that if I were John Henry, Tom Werner, or other decision-makers at FSG after the money that was spent trying to strengthen this team last summer, risking similar frustration, torment and discouragement for ANOTHER season would be unthinkable.
Mr. Henry... get out your cheque book and call Jurgen Klopp.
