Arne Slot and his staff have been reflecting on Tuesday night's Champions League exit at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, which ended Liverpool's European Cup campaign against the Ligue 1 champions for the second successive season.
But football moves quickly and attention has since turned back to the local skirmish that is the Merseyside derby.
The ECHO will be at the AXA Training Centre bright and early to hear from Liverpool head coach Slot as he looks ahead to a huge afternoon.
But here we take a closer look at what might be on the agenda for the Reds boss...
A heart-broken Hugo Ekitike is likely still reeling after confirming that both his first season at Liverpool and his World Cup dream are over due to a ruptured Achilles.
Ekitike suffered the injury against PSG on Tuesday night, and Liverpool confirmed the worst on Thursday morning.
The France international is now set for surgery and will be out of action for quite some time.
"It's hard, maybe even unfair," Ekitike wrote on social media. "But I'm grateful this is happening to me here, among you. I'm not alone. Your strength and your love will be my driving force. See you again soon, Anfield."
Slot will be in place to provide an update on the state of mind of his No.22 and how long it is reasonable to expect him to be sidelined for.
It's the third season-ending injury Liverpool have suffered this season, following Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley in September and January, respectively.
Slot will also likely be asked about Alexander Isak's ability to play a significant amount, having made his first start since December 9 earlier this week.
The £125m striker, plagued by fitness and injury problems all season, managed just five touches against PSG in his 45-minute cameo on Tuesday night. In hindsight, it was a decision that backfired from Slot.
Ekitike's injury derailed the game plan, especially since Mohamed Salah was being kept in reserve.
It's been a season to forget on Merseyside for the most expensive footballer in British history but needs-must right now with Ekitike resting up. Isak is not nearly at 100% having broken his leg before Christmas but the Reds could use a return on the blockbuster investment, starting this weekend.
There is the option for Cody Gakpo but can Isak still have a big part to play this season? Ekitike's injury means he simply has to now, no two ways about it.
'SELL TO BUY' COMMENTS
“This model of the club means that we have to sell, usually, to buy, so it’s a big challenge," Slot told Amazon Prime after the game on Tuesday.
"It was already a big challenge last season, and it’s going to be a challenge in the summer again. But the club has already shown many times that this model works.”
Slot might be asked to detail more about the challenge of continuing a Liverpool rebuild that clearly needs to take place this summer.
It's difficult for such a storied fixture to create any new history but Liverpool will do so this weekend when they make their maiden voyage to Everton's new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Reds drew the last ever Goodison Park men's derby 2-2, with James Tarkowski's volley earning a last-gasp point in February of last year.
That fallout from that game earned Slot a hefty fine and a touchline ban as Abdoulaye Doucoure and Curtis Jones were both sent off in the final moments of a tempestuous derby.
And if Sunday's game has the same level of drama, supporters are in for a treat.
Whatever happens, however, it will be remembered for a long time as Liverpool visit a brand new stadium for the first-ever time.
A hostile welcome is guaranteed.
