Florian Wirtz's first Liverpool season shows you how much tougher the Premier League is than the Bundesliga. It's harder. Against Everton, when he got the ball earlier on in the game he looked like he thought he was back in Germany. Everton stifled him because they were onto him so quickly.
That's the Premier League. Players won't let you have time. The Bundesliga doesn't do that as well as the Premier League. He's got to realise that. You don't get the time. He's got the ability - we all know that - but you don't get the time that sometimes he needs. Also, he's got to look at becoming more of a goal threat. Where are the goals going to come from when Moahamed Salah goes?
Hugo Eikitike could be injured for a while. Wirtz has got to be scoring 15 goals a season. He has to, for what we've paid and the ability that he's got. He's still not really hit the hight notes in the Premier League yet. We've all seen the ability he's got. He can be amazing, but he's got to do it time and time again. You've got to stand up and be counted in the Premier League and work your socks off.
He reminds me of Peter Beardsley in some ways, but Peter used to chase back and tackle. That's what he's got to do. It's not just about getting on the ball and making things happen. There's a different side to your game in this league. It's not just him; others have to do the same. I'm probably calling him out because Liverpool spent so much money so I expect so much more.
Whatever Liverpool do next season they must find a formation that works around Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak. They start in the the team. They are in the team whether you like it or not. The goals have got to come from those two players. Then you're looking at your left wingers.
Luis Diaz used to get quite a few goals. Now you've got Cody Gakpo and young Rio Ngumoha. But on the opposite wing, we need to go and get the best right winger in world football that is available. Then we need back-up in midfield - a tough holding midfield player.
They are the most important positions, because they must utilise a system where Isak and Wirtz score goals.
Liverpool should not worry about spending big money again this season. Chelsea have done it. Manchester City have done it season after season. So have Manchester United. We're no different. If it's within the rules and regulations, go out there and get the players we need.
We're losing one of the best players we've ever had in the club in Salah. A replacement won't be cheap. If it's another £100m I don't care. Go and get them. The club's probably worth £4billion. That's the value of the club. They should spend another £100m on a holding midfield player. The very best available. That's just for starters.
Andy Robertson is leaving. They will need another left-back. They might evening need another centre-back. They must get the best ones they can. £400m for four players. Bang. If it's good enough for Chelsea and Man City then it's good enough for us. Also, the squad needs to be really strong, including the players who don't start every week.
Liverpool's late win against Everton has put them in a strong position to qualify for next season's Champions League and it is absolutely essential that they do just that. If we can beat Crystal Palace and get a draw at Villa, then go and beat Chelsea, then it should look after itself.
But if they get beat by Chelsea at home, then things could get problematic, but we'll see. Palace have turned us over three times already this season and it hasn't been nice. I like Palace as a London club (as well as West Ham), but when a team beats you three times, as a player, you've got to be thinking 'they're getting it'.
It's about time we beat them. They've been a pain in our backside for some time. The defeat in the League Cup with a young side was particularly bad. It's time to put that right.
