It was great to hear the ovation Anfield reserved for Andy Robertson before, during and after the 2-0 win against Fulham on Saturday.
Robbo has been brilliant for us and a real fans' favourite. That is exactly what Liverpool need against PSG on Tuesday - 11 Andy Robertsons, because his attitude is always first class.
He plays with his heart, leaves everything on the pitch and he reminds me of a present-day Joey Jones, which is a huge compliment for the Scotland captain.
I just hope the club isn't leaving itself too short with all that experience, quality and leadership that is about to move on. Robertson is cut from the same cloth as James Milner and Jordan Henderson and a dressing room isn't successful without those types of footballers in there.
There has to be a plan from Liverpool now because a huge character is about to move on and the squad lacks those right now. Look, we know Milos Kerkez is the long-term future at left-back but finding a successor to Robertson, the vice captain, will be no easy task.
I look at Liverpool failing in their pursuit of Marc Guehi last summer and he could be the future captain of Manchester City now. These are the types of players and people the squad needs now, battlers with the right mentality.
He would have been a huge addition to the squad, Guehi. That was one the club got badly wrong looking back.
Liverpool need tough players and with heart because the group of players there now is quite flimsy. Who is going to fill the boots of players like Robertson and Mohamed Salah? Club legends who have won it all here.
The recruitment department have to get it right this summer because battling for fifth in mid-April isn't where they want to be this time next year. It's a big comedown from last season.
But there is hope. Find the right position for Florian Wirtz, get Alexander Isak purring and sign the right players to complement them. This summer's transfer window is absolutely huge.
The Liverpool FC, Tranmere and Republic of Ireland great, Aldo's lively and opinionated weekly column on LFC is a must read for all Reds fans.
