Noa Lang has posted a photograph of himself with a cast on his hand following surgery on a serious thumb injury. Lang required oxygen and left the Anfield pitch on a stretcher after suffering a horrific injury in Galatasaray's 4-0 loss to Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
It occurred when he collided with the advertising boards during the closing stages of the Champions League round of 16 second leg and Galatasaray have subsequently warned they may pursue legal action against UEFA. The 26-year-old was transported to Whiston Hospital and had surgery on a "serious cut" to his thumb.
Lang shared a photograph on Instagram with the message: "Surgery went well! Thanks for all the messages." He had earlier posted: "S*** happens."
Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky shows at least 215 live Premier League games each season, an increase of up to 100, plus Formula 1, darts, golf and more.
Lang was not the only Galatasaray player to sustain a serious injury during the fixture. Victor Osimhen also came off due to an arm complaint, which the club subsequently confirmed was a fractured forearm.
The two injured team-mates had a FaceTime conversation on Thursday and found solace in their shared experience. Sharing a screenshot of them both smiling and displaying their casts, Lang wrote "twin" with a heart emoji whilst tagging Osimhen.
Whilst the players are attempting to remain optimistic, Galatasaray are weighing up their options following Lang's freak injury. Club general secretary Eray Yazgan has made their stance clear.

He said: "We made a complaint to UEFA representatives after the match; they also made their investigations; UEFA will evaluate the issue.
"We are in talks with lawyers, we will file a lawsuit for compensation to UEFA, we will ask for our victimisation in terms of salary to be eliminated."
A club statement on both players read: "In the first half of our away match against Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg, our player Victor Osimhen took a blow to his arm and completed the first half, but following checks at halftime, he was not played in the second half due to the risk of a fracture in his arm.
"After the match, under the supervision of our medical team, examinations at the hospital revealed a fracture in our player's right forearm, and it was put in a cast.
"A decision regarding surgery will be made in the coming days following further assessments.
"In the second half of the same match, our player Noa Lang, who suffered an injury, sustained a serious cut to his right thumb, and it is planned for him to undergo surgery in Liverpool in the coming hours with the participation of our medical team."
