Joe Gomez starts at right-back for Liverpool as Mohamed Salah returns to the side that faces Manchester City in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup.
Alexander Isak misses out entirely after returning to training earlier this week after four months out with a broken leg.
Isak trained with colleagues on Thursday and Friday but is not risked as part of the match-day squad as he now prepares for potential inclusion in Paris on Wednesday night in the Champions League.
Salah missed the 2-1 defeat at Brighton before the international break after coming off injured in the 4-0 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League earlier that week.
However, the Egypt star returns to the team for what will be his final meeting with City as a Liverpool player as he prepares to bring the curtain down on his nine-year spell on Merseyside.
Gomez fills in at full-back in the absence of Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong, who is on the bench, alongside Ibrahima Konate, club captain Virgil van Dijk and Milos Kerkez.
Curtis Jones starts in midfield ahead of Alexis Mac Allister with Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai completing the midfield trio.
"These are the games that you want to play in," Jones told TNT Sport before kick-off. "I'm just a lad who wants to play. I want to help the team and I'm in the team today."
Florian Wirtz starts off the left side of the attack with Hugo Ekitike leading the line after his goal for France during the international break. The No.22 was withdrawn early on at Brighton with a dead leg but was OK to play for les Bleus during the break.
