Liverpool have been handed fresh injury problems after Jeremie Frimpong was forced off for Holland. The Dutch full-back has suffered another setback during his debut season at Anfield as his involvement in the Reds' crucial Champions League pursuit is under threat.
Frimpong was forced off after just 12 minutes of his introduction in their 1-1 draw with Ecuador in an international friendly.
It provides another selection headache for under-fire Liverpool head coach Arne Slot, who has already been forced to weather injury issues throughout their title defence this season. Now, the Reds will be sweating over the severity of Frimpong's injury.
The former Bayer Leverkusen defender was introduced for Oranje at half-time replacing Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo but within 13 minutes was forced off.
Koeman said: "That was a setback, we had to take him off."
