Arne Slot has the support of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at Anfield, with the latter promising to "help in anything" that he can. The current Reds boss is enjoying European success but is finding the domestic front more challenging.
Liverpool have advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals after a dominant 4-0 victory over Galatasaray, overturning a 1-0 first-leg deficit. However, a costly 2-1 loss to Brighton just three days later enabled Chelsea to maintain a one-point lead over them, with Brentford and Everton only three points further back in the Premier League standings.
Despite this domestic hiccup, Gerrard remains hopeful for Slot's success at Anfield. In a 2025 episode of TNT Sports' Ally's Social Club, the former Liverpool captain confessed to Ally McCoist that he would seize any opportunity to return and assist the Dutchman.
Gerrard said: "I'll be brutally, brutally honest with you: I'd help Liverpool in any department at any minute of every day.
"I'd help them in anything. I don't want the Liverpool manager to lose his job, I want Arne Slot to fix this and turn it around and make Liverpool great.
"I was bouncing all over the city four, five months ago when Liverpool won the league. I'm a Liverpool fan, I want the best for Liverpool. But if Liverpool need me, in any department at any time, I'll be there for them."
The Reds legend hasn't occupied the dugout since his spell at Al-Ettifaq, where he spent 18 months in the Saudi Pro League before departing by mutual agreement in January 2025. Gerrard has held positions at Aston Villa and the Liverpool academy, but his most triumphant spell came at Scottish side Rangers.
The 45-year-old secured the league title in Scotland during the 2020/21 campaign without suffering a single defeat. The former Reds star may be eager to assist his old club wherever possible but admits he isn't "down the Job Centre" seeking employment.
He said: "If that right opportunity, or that feeling that I got when I first bounced into Rangers, doesn't come then I'm fine. I'm not searching for a job, I'm not down the Job Centre for what's available. I'm not hoping 'that one might come available.'
"My life's great, my family life's great, I'm enjoying doing [media work], I've got a lot going on. My life's good, I'm fine.
"If the right football project comes up, the hunger's back, it's there."
