Dominik Szoboszlai is raring to go when Liverpool take on PSG
Dominik Szoboszlai has no time for any Liverpool supporters who believe that a Champions League comeback against Paris Saint-Germain isn't possible.
The Reds reconvene with the French champions on Tuesday night having lost the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie 2-0 in the French capital last week.
That result ensures that the reigning European champions are heavy favourites to progress to the last four at Anfield, where they won on penalties in the round of 16 last season, but Szoboszlai isn't interested in giving up just yet.
When asked by broadcaster Amazon Prime if a Reds comeback is possible, he said: “I hope so, listen, I’m gonna go all in, trust me. I don’t want to be sat here (doing the interview), I want it to be 8pm and to go for it.
"Even though we played two days ago, I can go, no matter what…It’s going to be a special night, I can feel it. We need to believe, everybody needs to believe. If you don’t believe, stay at home.”
Liverpool's form has tailed off rather dramatically having won the Premier League last season, with the Reds now in a fight to qualify for the Champions League next season as well as staying in the competition in the current campaign.
Szoboszlai admits that the side have had their issues, particularly talisman Mohamed Salah, but feels that the club's new arrivals such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and the returning Alexander Isak will all eventually adapt to their new surroundings.
“I can mention Mo, last season he won the Premier League for us, with his numbers," continued Szoboszlai when asked about Liverpool's form.
"Maybe he’s not at this level right now, which he knows. Maybe people were expecting more from the (new) guys who came in.
"But to come to the Premier League is not that easy. I can’t remember a player who came to the Premier League directly and didn’t show any setbacks. We need to give them time, to give them confidence, and trust me, if they have time and confidence, they will be needed in the future of Liverpool."
