Mohamed Salah is in good spirits and relaxed after his bombshell Liverpool announcement, according to reports.
A report from WinWin claimed that the 33-year-old was relaxed after making the shock revelation, posted to social media on Tuesday evening. The Egyptian record-breaker confirmed that he will be leaving the Reds after a trophy-laden nine years on Merseyside.
Salah's announcement puts an end to the speculation and uncertainty surrounding his career at Liverpool, which was first thrust into the spotlight after his incendiary comments following his omission from the squad in December. The Liverpool and Anfield faithful will bid farewell to the modern great in May as he brings an end to a chapter in the Premier League that brought two title successes and the Champions League.
He said: "Hello everyone, unfortunately the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.
"I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become part of my life. Liverpool is not just a football club, it's a passion, it's a history, it's a spirit. I can't explain in words to anyone not part of this club.
"We celebrated victory, we won the most important trophies and we fought together through the hardest time in our life. I want to thank everyone who was part of this club throughout my time here, especially the teammates past and present.
"And to the fans, I don't have enough words. The support you showed me through the best time of my career and you stood by me in the toughest times. It's something I will never forget and something I will take with me always.
Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season and Fanatics has cut the price of this season's kits with 'M. Salah 11' printing.
"Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will be always one of you.
"This club will always be my home to me and to my family. Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone."
Mohamed Salah Liverpool exit LIVE: Agreement reached, Ronaldo claim, next club updates
Liverpool had swatted away interest from Saudi Arabia during Jurgen Klopp's final season and the threat re-emerged last term, while Salah was inspiring the Reds to a second Premier League crown.
The Egyptian was out of contract last summer, but Liverpool tied him down to a new, lucrative two-year extension. However, with just over 12 months remaining, he will leave the club at the end of the season.
Reports suggest that he will leave the club on a free transfer, and clubs from the Kingdom are already being linked with a sensational swoop for the African icon while the MLS has also emerged as a possible next destination.
